The Joint Defence Council primarily deals with matters of collective security within the Arab League. The JDC operates under the guidelines of the 1950 Treaty of Joint Defence and Economic Cooperation between the States of the Arab League.
The Council on Palestinian Affairs is associated with evaluating and responding to the variety of issues involving the Palestinian people and their interaction with their neighbours. As Palestine is a fully recognized Member State of the Arab League, the representative from Palestine has a fair degree of influence in this council. This council deals primarily with social matters relating to the Arab world, such as human rights, refugees, and the like
The Council of Arab Economics Affairs Ministers
This council focuses its efforts on ensuring the economic success of the Arab world. This council has in the past focused on topics such , diversification away from primarily oil-based economies, long-term economic stability and trying to fulfil adequate employment opportunities for people living in the Arab world.
Council Of Arab Environmental Affairs Ministers
1. Assuring fair access to water resources among member states
2. Considering the impact and the future of alternative energy sources on oil-producing and non-oil-producing members of the League
3. Establishing contingency plans for environmental protection and clean-up in the event of an environmental disaster due to conflict in the region
